"Blue Lock" is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. The story follows Yoichi Isagi, a talented high school soccer player who is scouted to join Japan's national team. However, he quickly realizes that his individual skills are not enough to win games at the international level. In response, the team's coach creates a special training program called the "Blue Lock," which aims to cultivate the best striker in Japan by pitting the country's top 300 forwards against each other in a battle for the starting spot.
The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since August 2018 and has gained popularity for its intense soccer action and unique premise. It has also been adapted into an anime series, which premiered in October 2021.
