Weathering with You

 

"Weathering with You" is a Japanese animated film directed by Makoto Shinkai, who also directed the highly acclaimed film "Your Name." The film was released in Japan in 2019 and internationally in 2020.

The story follows a young high school student named Hodaka who runs away from his small island home to Tokyo. Once there, he struggles to find work and adjust to life in the big city. One day, he meets a young girl named Hina who has the ability to control the weather. Together, they start a business offering to clear the skies for events and individuals who need it.

As the story progresses, Hodaka and Hina's relationship deepens, but they soon discover that Hina's power has a price, and they must make a difficult choice to keep her safe.

The film was well-received by audiences and critics alike for its beautiful animation, captivating story, and emotional themes. It also features a soundtrack by the Japanese rock band Radwimps, who also provided the music for "Your Name."
